Announcements – MiniRoos & Juniors Preseason Training
Join us for Juniors -Boys preseason training starting February 6 at Fawkner Park!
Open to everyone aged 7-18, training will be held on Thursdays for next 8 weeks.
Preseason training gives players an opportunity to shake off the rust, build skills, and prepare for a fun and successful season and allows us to plan for the new season!
Two sessions available:
MiniRoos – 4:15-5:15 PM
Juniors (12+) – 5:15-6:30 PM
MiniRoos (8-11 year old)
MiniRoos provides opportunities for boys and girls to play small-sided games (vs. other Melbourne clubs) at the weekend. The smaller fields, modified rules and fewer players mean a more enjoyable game with more opportunities to touch the ball and more opportunities to score goals!

Game Days
- Boys Fixtures – Saturday
- Girls fixtures – Sunday
In 2024 the club included the following MiniRoos (U9-U11) teams. We are looking to grow our squads in 2025, which will be announced in coming weeks.
- Boys – U9 x2, U10, U11
- Girls – U9
Training
Training is held on a Thursday evenings with the option for an additional session when deemed necessary by the Technical Director and Team Coach(s).
Training Location Training sessions are held at Fawker Park – during winter these are held near the club house
Fees(Based on 2024 season)
- Pre-season: $100
- Regular Season: $733
- Club Fee: $573
- This includes FV/FA fees, uniforms, team registration, and group fees.
- Coach Levy: $160
- This is waived should the coach for the team be a volunteer
- Club Fee: $573
Juniors (12-18 years old)
In the 2024 season, we had the following Junior / Youth level teams. 2025 teams will be announced shortly.
- Boys U12 x2 – Using under 12-13 playing format (more information available from Football Victoria )
- Boys U14
- Girls U16 (Training Squad)
Game Days
- Boys U12 – Saturday
- Boys U14 and Girls fixtures – Sunday
Training
Two training sessions per week* on Tuesdays and Thursdays (depending on team). Training is compulsory.

Season
The regular season starts around mid-April continuing through to September (generally around 16-18 rounds home and away).
Fixtures
Football Victoria releases the season leagues and fixtures in mid-April (1-2 weeks before the start of the season).

Parents’ Role
South Yarra Soccer Club is entirely volunteer-run, and we depend on the support of our community to keep things running smoothly. We ask every parent or guardian to contribute their time and help make a difference!
Rosters will be shared prior to each game or event, and parents are required to volunteer their time or pay a volunteer levy to cover the costs.
Whether it’s taking on an official role (see below), assisting with training equipment, setting up on match day, organising a BBQ, fundraisers, or helping out on a subcommittee, your support is essential to our club’s success.

Team Managers
Junior team managers are parent-volunteers who are the “glue” between coaches, other parents, and the Club. For information on what being a team manager entails, please have a look at the Junior Team Manager Guide, and let your child’s coach know if you’re interested in taking on the role for your child’s team.
