MiniRoos
MiniRoos is a fun, inclusive soccer program designed for boys and girls aged 8-11 of all skill levels. MiniRoos aims to introduce young players to the game through short, game-based sessions that focuses on skill development, staying active, and making friends.
Season usually runs from April to September, with many teams beginning training in March. Games are held on Saturday mornings, with home matches played at Fawkner Park. Teams compete in Kanga, Wallaby, or Joey divisions, with Kanga being the most competitive.
All players must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle to training and games. Our coaches hold relevant qualifications for this age group, help create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Parents & Guardians at SYSC
South Yarra Soccer Club is proudly volunteer-run and our success depends on the support and involvement of our community. To ensure everything runs smoothly, we ask that every parent or guardian contribute their time to help make a difference.
Volunteer rosters will be shared ahead of each game or event. Parents are expected to either complete their required volunteer hours or, if unable to do so, pay the volunteer levy during registration.
For more details please reader the Volunteer Levy Policy.
There are many ways to get involved—whether by taking on an official role, assisting with training equipment, setting up for training sessions or match days, organising a BBQ, supporting fundraisers, or joining the Juniors subcommittee. Your support helps create the best possible experience for our players—thank you for being part of the club!
For further information about the expectations of parents at SYSC please read the Parents Code of Conduct and Parental Responsibility Policy.
Team Managers
Junior team managers are parent-volunteers who are the “glue” between coaches, other parents, and the Club. For information on what being a team manager entails, please have a look at the Team Manager Handbook, and let your child’s coach know if you’re interested in taking on the role for your child’s team.
Child Safety Officers
A Child Safety Officer (CSO) is the first point of contact for members with protection or child safety enquiries and complaints. CSOs provide information about available options and can also guide the club on member protection policies and related issues. They remain impartial and do not mediate or investigate complaints.
We are seeking volunteers to take on this essential role. If you’re interested, please contact us at Juniors@southyarrasc.com.au
Registration for Coaches, Managers and Volunteers in Play Football is mandatory. There is no fee attached to this registration. It is a requirement to register every year even if registered in previous years. All Coaches, Managers and Volunteers will be requested to provide a current Working with Children Check number. To obtain or renew an existing check, please visit working with children check to commence the process.
Team Sponsors
South Yarra Soccer Club is seeking sponsors for the upcoming season! If you’d like to sponsor your child’s team, one of the Senior’s teams, or become a sponsor of the Club—or if you know of another individual or business who might—please send an email to Juniors@southyarrasc.com.au
